Sierra Madre Motorcycle Adventures welcomes you to La Barranca del Cobre, "The Copper Canyon" of northwest Mexico. As specialists in south of the border back roads motorcycling, we look forward to what's in store for you. This is the perfect dual sport adventure.

When you arrive at our home base of Alamos, Sonora the uniqueness of the ride will soon become clear.

Sierra Madre Canyon

Within the 400-mile loop through the Sierra Madre Mountains and the majestic Copper Canyon you will experience fantastic single lane dirt riding, incredible canyon vistas, fascinating native culture, and a feeling of adventure that only foreign travel has to offer.

By means of a single lane dirt road, we will rise from the thorn scrub of the desert, to the cliff hanging, pine covered passes of the mountains, descend deep into canyons with cascading waterfalls and challenging river crossings.

Ahead of you lies not only the "Real Mexico," where people live closely to the land, where families have lived in the same villages for generations, and where history is still evident and time seems to move a bit more slowly, but also the exciting and gloriously majestic copper canyon.

We will stay in the villages of Cerocahui, Urique, Temoris, and Chinipas, and meet some of the characters that make Mexico special. This is not just a typical ride through the mountains, it's a ride through the glorious and famous copper canyon.

Our Philosophy      We do not intend to be the Walmart of motorcycle business' - our intent is to run a small personalized business, with a strong focus on customer service while paying attention to the details, and incorporating as much information as possible about the fantastic scenic and historic nature of the areas we will be riding through. We schedule just two trips per season to maximize the weather conditions and quality of rider experience. Because of the limited number of riders per trip and the popularity of this unique adventure, we suggest that interested riders book as early as possible.

Our trips start and end in Alamos, Sonora, Mexico. The first night in Alamos we'll have a great full-blown 5-course dinner and watch a slide show about the area and the trip. The last night in Alamos ends with another great dinner and party.

Unlike the competition, with 400 miles of pavement before you get to the good stuff, we immediately head off into the countryside and ride on only six miles of paved road. There is no camping on Sierra Madre Motorcycle Adventure trips, we stay in the best lodging available in all locations.
